PESHAWAR: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Faisal Karim Kundi has asked the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to implement the order of the Peshawar High Court (PHC) regarding appointments of Public Service Commission members.

It was said in a statement issued by the KP governor’s office here on Friday. It asserted that the governor’s secretariat has submitted a letter to the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and asked the government to ensure sure implementation of the order of the PHC to appoint PSC members.

It also mentioned that the governor urged in the letter to the government of KP to submit the recommendations for appointments of PSC members to the office of the governor in the light of the PHC verdict.

“According to the law and constitution, Governor KP is entitled to approve the recommendations of PSC members’ appointments,” The letter stated.

FIA initiates disciplinary action against officers, personnel

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has taken action against 19 officers and officials involved in corruption, misuse of authority, and negligence, and imposed severe punishments under departmental accountability.

Inspector Maria Niaz was dismissed from service on charges of illegally occupying an official residence and absenteeism. Sub-Inspector Kashif Riaz Awan was dismissed on charges of protecting a group involved in illegal organ trafficking.
Sub-Inspector Tassaduq Hussain and Sub-Inspector Ahmed Waqar were dismissed on charges of illegal raids and poor inquiry, while Constable Asif Allah Ditta was dismissed on charges of illegal raids and extortion.
Technical Assistant Inayatullah was dismissed on charges of irresponsibility and illegal immigration clearance. Inspector Muhammad Arsalan Masood Khan and Inspector Idrees Khan were sentenced to a reduction in pay scale for demanding a bribe during an inquiry.
Sub-Inspector Sohail Ahmed’s promotion was stopped for one year for official negligence. Sub-Inspectors Shazma Shabbir, Shabana Shamsher, Umar Farooq and ASI Farhan Issar were sentenced to withholding increment for two years for illegal immigration clearance.
Similarly, Constables Muhammad Shakir, Muhammad Asif, Muhammad Zahid Iqbal, Mudassar Saeed and Adeel Ahmed were sentenced to withholding increment for one year. Technical Assistant Ghulam Khan was given a warning for not following official orders.
The FIA ​​spokesperson said that the purpose of departmental accountability is to maintain transparency, integrity and professional standards in the organisation, and strict action is being taken against officials involved in illegal activities.
The spokesperson added that the negligent officers are being punished so that any kind of corruption or illegal action can be avoided in the future.
