Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that if the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is ready for serious talks, then the government is also ready for talks in every way; however, it does not mean that the government will accept illegal demands and blackmail.

Speaking at a meeting of the federal cabinet, the Prime Minister said that these days, the PTI and its allies are talking about dialogue. He clarified that if they are serious, then the Pakistani government is also ready for dialogue, but the talks can only move forward in the light of legitimate and legal issues. The Prime Minister added that he has repeatedly said in the Assembly that the process of negotiations is possible only if all parties avoid illegal demands, and the purpose of dialogue is the national interest.

Shahbaz Sharif said, “Harmony among all political parties is essential for the development and prosperity of Pakistan. The government is always ready to find solutions to legitimate issues through dialogue.” According to him, the government is open to talks, but the condition is that the negotiation process should be transparent, legal, and constructive. He made it clear that any talks with blackmail or illegal demands will not be acceptable.

The Prime Minister’s statement comes at a time when political tensions are rising in the country, and various parties are pushing for resolving issues through dialogue.
