ISLAMABAD: The government of Pakistan and security forces have successfully transferred hundreds of stranded Pakistani students from the conflict area in Iran through the Taftan border to Quetta.

The evacuation of Pakistani students residing in Iran is progressing successfully, thanks to the joint efforts of the Government of Pakistan and the Pakistan Armed Forces. So far, a total of 183 students have safely returned to Pakistan via Taftan, comprising 83 male students and 100 female students.

According to officials, the arrival of students began during the night of March 1-2, with an additional 121 students (41 males and 80 females) reaching Taftan today. Among these, the first convoy of 62 students, which included 42 males and 20 females, has been dispatched to Quetta.

These students, who were studying at various medical universities in Iran, come from different provinces, with the largest group of 132 students hailing from Punjab. The other students include 15 from Sindh, 22 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 10 from Gilgit-Baltistan, 3 from Azad Kashmir, and 1 from Balochistan.

Specifically, there are 50 students from Tehran Medical College, 58 from Isfahan Medical College, 38 from Zanjan Medical College, and 37 from Yazd Medical College. With the cooperation of government authorities and the Pakistan Army, all necessary arrangements have been made to transport these citizens back to their home provinces.
