ISLAMABAD: Google, the tech giant, has introduced a call recording feature that has been highly anticipated for a long time in its Pixel smartphones.
International media have reported that Pixel users can get the new feature working by opening the Phone app, going to the Call Assistant section, and enabling the “New Call Recording” option.
The activation of the Call Assist menu on the calling screen will therefore be done after the record button, which will be a dedicated one, will be visible. The short countdown that is initiated upon the recording start is to notify the parties involved that it is the recording that is beginning.
During the conversation, a recording indicator will be a red dot next to the call duration. Besides, a stop button will be available to the user within the Call Assist menu at which time if the user wants to stop the recording, they will be able to do so. Afterwards, when stopping is done, the audio file will be located in the Call Recording home tab, which is represented by a microphone icon.
The feature further comprises the setting that a user can modify for deletions. Each user is allowed to decide whether he wants the recordings automatically deleted after 7, 14, or 30 days. The remaining two options are for the recordings to be deleted instantly or to never be deleted.
Google Chrome rolls out ‘Split View’ feature for easier multitasking
Google Chrome is introducing a brand-new feature that is expected to change the way people use the Internet. The feature, named “Split View,” is a means by which the users can open two windows and thus see two separate tabs side by side within one single Chrome window – multitasking becomes very fast and handy.
Android Authority report mentions that the Split View function was experimented with for a few months and is now being changed gradually to users.
By simply stating the case, the function greatly increases the efficiency level of users as one will no longer bother to open two Chrome windows separately. Two tabs can be in operation in one window and can be put side by side, exchanged (left or right), or one can be made bigger or smaller – all these operations can be done in several clicks.
In the past, one would have to use some third-party apps or manually open and adjust two browser windows so as to achieve this kind of multitasking. With the help of this new internal feature of Chrome, it is now much easier for both desktop and mobile users to go through this process.
Steps to Find out if Split View Feature Is Enabled
This new function is not yet fully operational as the upgrade is done gradually. To check if this function is at your disposal:
Open one tab in Chrome.
Right-click the tab and locate “New Split View with Current Tab.”
In case you cannot find it, here is how you can activate this feature manually through Chrome’s experimental settings (flags):
Locate and modify the Chrome address bar to read:
chrome://flags/#side-by-side
The user presses Enter, switches on the Split View option, and then clicks Relaunch so as to restart Chrome.
After the new startup, the feature should be enabled. By “New Split View with Current Tab”, you are able to open the second tab alongside yours and thus have effortless multitasking interactivity.
