KUWAIT CITY: Kuwait has implemented new visitor visa regulations, which make it easier for travellers to apply through an online system and extend their visa stays. The new regulations create a better system for international visitors because it explains rules that were previously confusing to them.
The new regulations establish the following requirements:
Airline restrictions lifted: Visitors are no longer required to enter Kuwait via a specific airline.
No mandatory exits every three months: Visitors who are in the country are not required to exit every three months for visa renewal purposes.
Visa renewal: Visitors are free to travel out of Kuwait to renew their visas once their visas expire.
Multiple entries allowed: There is no official restriction on being issued a visit visa after multiple entries out of Kuwait, although each case is considered separately.
Passport requirements: Visitors are required to have valid passports that have no legal restrictions or violations.
The new regulations permit visa extensions for specific situations which can extend visit visas from three months to six or twelve months after approval and payment of necessary fees. Visitors who overstay without proper extension will face fines and deportation and future entry restrictions to the country.
Authorities advise travellers to check the official Ministry of Interior website (kuwaitvisa.moi.gov.kw) or the government portal (e.gov.kw) for the most accurate and up-to-date information, as rules may vary depending on visa type (tourist, family visit, etc.) and nationality.
