PESHAWAR: The Safe City Project, which will become a new guarantee of law and order for the residents of the provincial capital Peshawar, has entered the final stages, and its inauguration is expected soon.
Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hameed visited the central control room of the Safe City Project established at Malik Saad Shaheed Police Lines, where he reviewed the ongoing work on the project in detail.
Additional IG Headquarters Abbas Ahsan, DIG Information Technology and Project Director Safe City Rai Ijaz Ahmed, CCPO Peshawar Dr. Mian Muhammad Saeed, SSP Operations Farhan Khan, Additional Project Director Naveed Gul, Director Public Relations KP Police Shahzad Kokab Farooq, NRTC experts and other senior police officers were also present on the occasion.
The IGP was briefed about various parts of the central control room, modern camera systems and artificial intelligence-based technology. NRTC experts said that a major part of the project has entered the completion stage and the countdown for its inauguration has begun.
The Inspector General of Police, while carefully reviewing the control room building and the quality of work, also gave some suggestions to the experts and said that there is room for improvement in every project, however, timely and quality completion of the Safe City project will prove to be a new harbinger of peace in Peshawar.
IGP Zulfiqar Hameed said that the Safe City project will play a key role in establishing law and order not only in Peshawar but also in the entire province.He said that the public had been waiting for this project for a long time, which is being developed according to world standards.
He said that this project, which includes high-quality cameras, strong steel structures, and modern artificial intelligence systems, will guarantee peace for the city’s residents and be a nightmare for criminal elements.
