ISLAMABAD: Afghan Taliban forces initiated an unprovoked and indiscriminate barrage of fire across the border in Bajaur, Nawapas (Mohmand), and Dir regions. In response, Pakistan security forces delivered a swift and powerful counterstrike, silencing the enemy’s gun positions and destroying the posts from which the fire had originated.
According to security sources, there were no casualties reported on the Pakistani side during the exchange. The Pakistani forces effectively neutralized the Taliban’s attempts, rendering their efforts futile and ensuring the complete silence of enemy positions.
“Pakistani forces acted swiftly and decisively, responding to the aggression with the necessary force,” said a military spokesperson. “The situation has been fully contained, and we have successfully neutralized all threats along our border.”
The cross-border fire exchange, which took place primarily in the Nawapas and Bajaur sectors, has been exaggerated by certain Afghan media outlets and social media accounts, presenting the incident as more significant than it actually was. However, on-the-ground reports confirm that the situation remains firmly under control, and there have been no extraordinary events or escalation.
While the situation was brief, Pakistani authorities have emphasized that such acts of aggression will be met with firm retaliation. “Our response was a clear message that we will not tolerate any attack on our sovereignty,” a senior government official remarked.
Pakistan’s military continues to maintain a vigilant presence along its border, reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding the nation’s territorial integrity. “We remain prepared to face any future challenges and ensure that peace and security along our borders are never compromised,” the official added.
