ISLAMABAD: Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has announced the gas supply schedule for Eid-ul-Fitr. The announcement was made to ensure the provision of uninterrupted gas services during the festive days.
According to the spokesperson of the SSGC, there will be no suspension of gas supply on the night of Eid. Instead, gas supply will be continued until the next midnight.
For the provision of gas services during Eid, SSGC has planned the following:
For Eid Day 1 and 2: Gas supply will be suspended from 12:00 AM to 6:00 AM, and gas will be available from 6:00 AM to 12:00 midnight.
For Eid Day 3: Gas will be supplied from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM, and normal schedules will be followed.
The company claimed to have taken all necessary steps to ensure the provision of gas services to households during Eid.
Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee announces Eid on Saturday
Earlier, the important meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee to see the moon of Shawwal 1447 AH is underway in the federal capital, however, no evidence of the moon has been received from any part of the country and Eid will be celebrated on Saturday.
The meeting is being presided over by the Chairman of the Committee, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, in which prominent scholars of different schools of thought, experts from the Meteorological Department and representatives of Suparco are participating.
Speaking during the meeting, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad said that most of the country is currently covered in clouds and no evidence of the moon has been received so far.
On the other hand, the meetings of the zonal committees are also ongoing at their respective places, which will send their reports to the Central Committee.
