ISLAMABAD: A gas cylinder explosion was reported at the National University of Modern Languages (NUML) in Islamabad on Tuesday. Three people were reportedly injured in the incident.
According to media reports that a gas cylinder blast was heard at the NUML, where three people were reportedly injured, and they have been shifted to a hospital for treatment.
The incident was also confirmed by the NUML Facebook official page, stating that a few people were injured in the incident.
According to media reports, the blast was heard at the university, and those injured were promptly taken to a hospital for treatment. The Islamabad police indicated that a gas leak was the cause of the explosion, and teams have been dispatched to investigate the incident.
A spokesperson stated that four people sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital. The fire brigade was able to extinguish the blaze.
Visuals from the university showed panicked students evacuating the campus as emergency and rescue personnel worked to manage the fire in one of the rooms. Bystanders were also seen assisting an injured person lying on the ground.
