ISLAMABAD: The death toll in the tragic gas cylinder explosion that occurred during a wedding ceremony in Sector G-7-2, Islamabad, has risen to six. According to the Additional Deputy Commissioner General, the explosion took place in a wedding house while guests were present.

Additional Deputy Commissioner General Sahibzada Yousaf arrived at the scene immediately following the directives of the Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad. He reported that both the bride and groom were among the deceased, and a total of four houses were affected by the incident.

Rescue officials stated that fifteen people were evacuated from the affected houses. Of these, six lost their lives, while ten others were promptly transferred to PIMS Hospital. After the incident, PIMS Hospital was alerted, and medical assistance is being provided to the injured.

Sahibzada Muhammad Yousaf confirmed that the rescue operation has been completed, and all individuals who were trapped under the rubble have been evacuated. Further inspections of the debris are being conducted with the help of K9 units and modern technology to eliminate any potential hazards.

An emergency has been declared at PIMS Hospital, according to PIMS spokesperson Dr. Aneza Jalil. She confirmed that six bodies from the cylinder explosion have been brought to PIMS and that eleven injured individuals, including two children, have also been admitted.

Treatment for the injured is ongoing in the Orthopedic, Burn Center, and Neuro Department. Dr. Jalil noted that many of the injured sustained additional injuries due to the roof collapse.
