PESHAWAR: A special ceremony was held on Tuesday at the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), Peshawar, where representatives from all educational boards in the province were officially handed over the On-Screen Marking Software.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, together with the Chief Secretary, developed this initiative to replace manual marking methods while protecting examination papers and establishing transparent digital evaluation processes. The software automates the entire marking process while protecting against human mistakes.

The Peshawar Board’s IT team, in a remarkable achievement, developed this advanced, secure, and comprehensive on-screen marking software in just 60 days.

The ceremony also highlighted the E-Answer Sheet project, which was successfully completed by the Peshawar Board under the government’s instructions. As part of the initiative, training sessions were conducted for all boards on the use of E-Sheets and On-Screen Marking, along with live testing sessions. The server settings for all boards have been completed to create a standardized digital marking system that operates visibly while maintaining secure operations throughout the entire province.

The Peshawar Board officials announced this development as a ground-breaking moment that will transform educational practices throughout the entire province. The examination system will undergo modernization efforts to achieve improved transparency and reliability which match international standards.

The board confirmed its dedication to offering technical assistance to all educational institutions and boards because it wants to create better educational opportunities for students.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa declares public holiday on Thursday

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government declared February 5 as a public holiday throughout the province to observe Kashmir Solidarity Day, according to the announcement.

The Additional Chief Secretary General issued a notification which declared that all government offices and semi-government offices, autonomous institutions and corporations and educational institutions within the provincial administration system would be closed.

The notification confirmed that all locations in the province will observe a one-minute silence at 10:00 AM. The various programs which will take place will demonstrate solidarity with the people of Kashmir.

Earlier, the federal government declared February 5 as a public holiday throughout the country to observe Kashmir Solidarity Day which was announced earlier.

The people of Pakistan observe Kashmir Solidarity Day every year to show their support for the Kashmiri people and their right to self-determination. The country will host special events together with seminars, rallies and prayer gatherings which will take place throughout the entire day.
