PESHAWAR: Special Assistant to Chief Minister for Information, Shafi Jan termed the price hike an economic attack on the people. He specifically targeted the government’s move to increase the price of petrol to 458 rupees and diesel to 520 rupees per liter.

Shafi Jan said the government has left the people in a helpless and vulnerable situation by imposing such a high price on petroleum products. “This is not inflation. This is the economic murder of the people,” said Shafi Jan while emphasizing the fact that the economic decisions taken by the government are against the economic interests of the people.

Shafi Jan further targeted the government’s economic policies and said the narrative presented by the government on the economic situation in the world was a “shame.” According to him, the main problem lies in the economic policies adopted by the government, which, according to him, has been robbing the people of the country of their hard-earned money. “The so-called global situation is just a cover-up for the real robbery happening in the pockets of the public,” said Shafi Jan.

The economic decisions taken by the government in the context of the price surge have been strongly criticized by many, and Shafiq Jan said such decisions might lead to a storm in the country. “These tyrannical decisions could bring a storm to the streets,” said Shafi Jan while emphasizing the fact that the people might protest against the economic decisions taken by the government.

He accused finger at the ruling government for its inability to address the economic difficulties faced by its citizens. “The ruling class is indulging in luxuries, and the common man is asked to make sacrifices. This is unacceptable. This is not just a storm of inflation. This is a catastrophe imposed on the people.”

Shafi Jan also said, that the oppressive policies of the present government have shattered the patience of the common man. The fake federal government has pushed the common man to the wall. The patience of the common man has run out.
