PESHAWAR: The Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board of Peshawar has proposed major reforms to ensure that upcoming board exams are transparent and free from corruption.
The board recommends that educational institutions establish their operational system by employing qualified personnel who will be monitored through dedicated examination processes, which will ensure their educational performance through ongoing assessment methods.
A written letter sent by the Principal of Government Technical College Gulbahar to the Chairman of the Peshawar Board outlined several important suggestions to improve the examination system.
The letter emphasized that experienced teachers should serve as exam centre invigilators while fresh graduates should not work in this role. The organization recommended that staff members to be rotated every two days to achieve effective prevention measures against both cheating and other forms of academic dishonesty.
The organization recommended that officers holding Grade 17 and Grade 18 positions should perform special inspection tasks while making principals responsible for all examination-related activities that take place in their schools. The principal would assume responsibility for any irregularities or unlawful activities that occurred.
The letter demanded that all individuals who violate the rules should face strict disciplinary penalties that stem from violations of the E&D Rules 2011. The organization recommended that retired employees should not be assigned any exam-related duties which include their role as supervisors or their position as superintendent.
These reforms aim to ensure a fair, transparent, and well-regulated examination process across Peshawar.
