ISLAMABAD: Pakistani MMA fighter Anita Karim has made history as she won her first professional MMA fight in Pakistan by defeating Parisa Shams Ahadi from Iran.

The triumph was part of the “Infinite Championship” professional MMA league taking place in Islamabad, where Anita went into the women’s 52-kilogram title fight and came out as the winner.

Anita Karim, who comes from the scenic Hunza valley, is the first female professional MMA fighter from Pakistan. She has also captured the spotlight in various international competitions, thus, getting the recognition of being a skilled and determined fighter.

Anita not only promoted her own career with her victory but also set a new standard for women’s MMA in Pakistan thus, encouraging the coming up of new generations of female fighters in the country.

PSL 11 draft likely on January 30 as preparations get underway

The player draft for the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is expected to take place on January 30, sources said.

As per the sources, the PSL management has taken the decision to draft and complete all coming arrangements very early and has started with making preliminary plans in this context. The management is trying to make sure that all the matters regarding logistics and administration are wrapped up at the right time.

Moreover, the sources told that the official announcement regarding the date and venue of the draft is expected to be made soon. The owners of all eight franchises, together with coaches and other related representatives are likely to be present at the day of the event.

It was also found out that PSL 11 draft may be held between the T20 series of Pakistan and Australia during a one-day break allowing stakeholders to attend the event without affecting their international commitments.

Pakistan Super League is one of the major sports events in the country, and already fans and franchises are getting excited about the upcoming season.
