ADELAIDE: Indian star batter, Virat Kohli has just added an unwanted record of most ducks (zero runs) by an active cricketer to his career.

According to details, in the second ODI against Australia on Thursday at Adelaide, Kohli was out again for a duck after scoring a zero in the first game of the three-match series. This is the first instance in his ODI career when Kohli has been given zero in two games in a row.

Thus, Indian batting legend has now been dismissed for zero 18 times in his ODI career spanning 304 matches. The best among the current crop of players is Rohit Sharma with 17 times he was dismissed for zero.

The most ducks record in ODI cricket is still held by the Sri Lankan great Sanath Jayasuriya who achieved 34 ducks in 445 matches.

Kohli remains one of the most dependable and innovative batsmen of the game despite this unique blunder and he maintains numerous records such as most ODI centuries (50+).

In a video, Australian players mocked this behavior, which came to light during the Asia Cup 2025. Australian cricketers, both male and female, created a humorous video for the occasion, which was released on the Kayo Sports platform. In the video, one anchor said, ‘We all know that India is a great team, but we have found their weakness!’ Another anchor laughed and said, ‘They don’t like the traditional handshake very much, so why don’t we confuse them before the game starts!’

After this, the Australian players were seen showing various interesting and unconventional ‘greetings’, such as air high fives, head bows, and gestures in the style of a salute. Indian fans have called the Australian team’s video insensitive, while some users have appreciated it as a humorous aspect of cricket.
