PESHAWAR: Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and police killed a wanted terrorist in an exchange of fire with terrorists during a successful operation in the Banda Daud Shah area of Karak district.
According to details, CTD and police personnel were present in the area when they encountered a group of terrorists, after which a fierce exchange of fire started. The terrorists used automatic weapons extensively in the encounter. After the exchange of fire, one terrorist was found dead on the spot. The slain terrorist has been identified as Suleman alias Akram, a resident of Kohat. The slain terrorist Suleman, alias Akram, was an active member of the Kaleemullah formation.
He was wanted in various serious cases, and several FIRs were registered against the above-mentioned. The bodies were also accused of involvement in several other terrorist acts, including the attack on the Sui Northern Gas Pipeline (SNGPL) installations.
The police and CTD are determined to continue their efforts to completely eradicate terrorism from the province and will not allow anti-national elements to play with the lives and property of the people.
Pakistan has witnessed a rise in terrorist incidents since the end of the ceasefire between the Pakistani authorities and the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in 2023. More than 800 people across the country have lost their lives in such attacks since then.
