PESHAWAR: Four robbers who committed robberies in police uniform were killed in a Police encounter on Saturday.
According to the details, four robbers were killed during a police encounter in the Mehrgal Kale area of Meer Kachhori, Peshawar. According to the police, when the police reached the spot after receiving information about the presence of robbers, the accused opened fire, in response to which the police retaliated and killed all four robbers of the gang.
According to police officials, the slain suspects had been committing robberies in police uniform since 2003, and the robbers had recently looted crores of rupees and valuable jewelry from the house of a doctor. SSP Operations Peshawar Masood Ahmed Bangash said that the four slain robbers have been identified, of whom 3 belong to Afghanistan.
SSP Maswood Ahmed Bangash further said that these accused were highly wanted by the police of Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Nowshera, and other districts, and in recent days, they had also committed two major crimes. After the encounter, a Kalashnikov rifle, two pistols, and motorcycles were also recovered from the robbers.
This operation is a clear example of timely information and a strict stance against crimes by the law enforcement agencies, which played an important role in protecting the citizens and maintaining peace.
