KHAR, Bajaur: Four police officers martyred in a terrorist attack which occurred during the holy month of Ramzan. The attack happened in Nawai Kalli Bajaur when terrorists launched a surprise attack against police officers. Two other officers, Arshad Khan and Aziz-ur-Rehman, were injured and are receiving medical attention.
The Ababeel Squad patrol team operated throughout Ramzan to protect citizens and enforce security in important urban areas during Iftar.
The Bajaur Police Lines hosted the funeral services for the martyred officers which received full military honours. The event attracted a large group of attendees who included Bajaur Scouts Commandant, Bajaur District Police Officer, Deputy Commissioner, SP Investigation officers, police department personnel, civil department personnel, local dignitaries, and civil society members.
The police personnel presented a guard of honour after the prayers. Police personnel placed flower tributes on the coffins to honour the officers most significant sacrifice. Special prayers were offered for the safety of the nation and for the elevation of the martyrs’ ranks.
The special police unit transported the bodies to their hometowns. The burial ceremony received complete official military honours.
District Police Officer Muhammad Khalid reaffirmed the commitment of the force. He declared that all the attack participants would soon receive the punishment they deserve. The force will honour the soldiers who died in the service of their country.
