ISLAMABAD: Atleast 12 people have been injured in a blast at the AC gas plant near the canteen located in the basement of the Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday morning.
The sound of the explosion shook the entire building and the lawyers, staff and other people present in the SC came out of the building for safety.
According to initial reports, 4 people were injured in the explosion and were immediately shifted to the hospital for medical assistance. However later the injured number rose to 12.
Rescue and security personnel reached the spot, surrounded the building and sealed the affected area.
According to sources, the explosion occurred due to gas leakage in the AC gas plant, however, investigations are underway to find out the final cause.
The Supreme Court administration has sought a detailed report on the incident.
