Former Senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan has been released from Israeli captivity and handed over to the Pakistani Embassy in Oman.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has confirmed that former Jamaat-e-Islami Senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan has been released and is currently in the Pakistani Embassy in Oman. His health is good, and his spirits are high. Ishaq Dar said that the embassy is fully prepared for his return to Pakistan at his convenience and wish. He thanked all friendly countries on this occasion for playing an active role in this matter and fully cooperating with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The release of Mushtaq Ahmed Khan is being seen as a major success in Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts. He was taken into custody by Israeli forces when the Global Sumud flotilla entered the Gaza water to help the needy people of the enclave.
