Former Senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, who was released from Israeli custody, arrived in Islamabad from Bahrain via Gulf Airlines flight GF 770, where he was given a grand welcome.

Hundreds of people gathered at the Islamabad International Airport to welcome Senator Mushtaq. On this occasion, Palestinian flags were seen flying at the airport as a show of solidarity with Palestine. Slogans were raised in favor of Mushtaq Ahmed, and he was garlanded with flowers. Former Senator Mushtaq Ahmed was detained by Israeli authorities when he was part of a flotilla carrying aid to the Palestinians along with human rights activists. He was stopped and arrested by Israel last week; however, after international pressure and diplomatic efforts, he was safely released and returned home.

The Pakistani Embassy in Jordan had posted on the social media platform ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) last night that Mushtaq Ahmed Khan had safely left for Pakistan after being released from Israeli custody. According to a Foreign Office spokesperson, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar contacted Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and thanked him for his assistance in returning Mushtaq Ahmed Khan to Oman. The Foreign Office appreciated all diplomatic efforts made for the release of Mushtaq Ahmed.
