PESHAWAR: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Ikhtiar Wali Khan has said that a forensic examination of the recently surfaced videos about Sohail Afridi will be conducted, after which the facts will become clear.
Ikhtiar Wali Khan said in his statement that it can be clearly seen in the videos that Sohail Afridi led armed groups during the May 9 incidents, which has raised questions about his role and eligibility for public office.
He added that in the videos, Sohail Afridi is present with the rioting protesters and is seen leading stone pelting on state officials, which directly shows his involvement in the attacks.
The PML-N leader alleged that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) started a campaign to declare the video fake, but the facts will become clear after the forensic investigation. Ikhtiar Wali Khan said that saying that the videos are from another occasion does not reduce the seriousness of the crime. According to him, Sohail Afridi’s role is much more serious than that of the other accused of May 9.
He further said that despite taking oath as Chief Minister, Sohail Afridi’s statements and speeches are tantamount to deviating from the constitutional oath and inciting the people against state institutions. Ikhtiar Wali Khan said that the latest evidence has exposed the real face of Sohail Afridi and his party.
