SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: Operation Commander Special Services Group (SSG) Col. Muhammad Tahir said that the forces had confined the terrorists to a specific block and ensured the security of the students during the operation against Khwarij elements in the Wana cadet college attack.
Colonel Tahir added that “after a vigorous operation between 10 and 10:30 pm, all the terrorists were killed.” He also said that “the Pakistan Army ensured that the lives of students and teachers were not harmed by the terrorist attack.”
Afghan Khawarij carried out a terrorist attack on Cadet College located in the Wana area of South Waziristan; however, the timely action of the forces and the courage of the teachers and students of the college thwarted the terrorists’ plans.
The soldiers of the Pakistan Army and the teachers and students of Cadet College Wana resisted the terrorists vigorously during this attack. The attackers included five Khawarij who tried to enter the college through a suicide bomb blast, while other terrorists attacked the main gate of the college. During this, an attempt was made to take the students studying inside the college hostage; however, the immediate action of the forces thwarted the attackers.
Operation Commander Col. Muhammad Tahir told the media that the forces had confined the terrorists to a specific block and ensured the safety of the students. Colonel Tahir added that “after a vigorous operation between 10 and 10:30 pm, all the terrorists were killed.” He also said that “the Pakistan Army ensured that the lives of students and teachers were not harmed by the terrorist attack.”
The students of Cadet College Wana set another example of their courage during this time. A student said, “We were preparing for the drill competition when suddenly a suicide blast occurred. We immediately realized that this attack was carried out by the enemies of education who want to stop us from studying.”
The students of cadet college Wana, while appreciating the services Pakistan army, said that their morale is high and they will defend their motherland while fighting along with the Pakistan army.
The college teachers calmed the students and instructed them to move to safe places until the help of the Pakistan Army arrived. A student said, “The teachers told us, ‘Now you can relax, the Pakistan Army has arrived. ‘”
Thanks to the timely and effective actions of the Pakistan Army, this attack was foiled, and a terrifying terrorist plan was foiled. After the success of the operation, the teachers and students of Cadet College Wana gave a befitting reply to the terrorists, thanks to their courage.
Field Marshal Asim Munir appreciated the courage and bravery of the teachers, students, and army personnel of Cadet College Wana during this operation and said, “These builders of the nation are our capital, let no harm come to them.”
The defeat of the terrorists and the timely action of the army have once again proven that Pakistan’s educational institutions, teachers, and students are strong, safe, and successful against the country’s enemies.
