ISLAMABAD: In response to a recent statement by Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the Iranian official’s clarification about Pakistan’s role in ongoing diplomatic efforts.
Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar referred to Araghchi as his “dear brother,” highlighting the strong ties of friendship and respect between Pakistan and Iran. This response came after Araghchi publicly acknowledged Pakistan’s significant contributions and unwavering commitment to peace negotiations, countering earlier claims that suggested Pakistan was ‘irrelevant’ to the diplomatic process.

“I sincerely thank my dear brother, Minister Araghchi, for his clear and constructive statement,” Ishaq Dar stated. He added that this acknowledgment not only strengthened the bond between the two countries but also reaffirmed Pakistan’s pivotal role in the peace talks.
Araghchi’s clarification has dispelled misleading narratives circulating in some media, positioning Pakistan as central to ongoing discussions and future resolutions. Araghchi expressed deep gratitude for Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to mediate peace, stating that Iran’s primary concern lies in establishing the terms for a definitive and lasting resolution to what it considers an illegal war imposed upon the country.
We are deeply grateful to Pakistan for its efforts and have never refused to go to Islamabad. What we care about are the terms for a conclusive and lasting end to the illegal war that is imposed on us, said Araghchi. He concluded with a heartfelt message: “پاکستان زنده باد” (Long live Pakistan), reiterating Tehran’s commitment to peace and cooperation.
