PESHAWAR: A deepening flour crisis has hit Peshawar as supply from Punjab continues to be suspended, say dealers. The city has a mere fortnight’s stock left, and prices are skyrocketing.
Express News states that supply of flour from Punjab has totally halted, and prices have been boosted once again recently. Traders say that unless the supply is resumed soon, the general public will be put into very big trouble getting the flour.
To counter this, the provincial government has made up its mind to move to the Supreme Court and intends to file a writ petition within next week. A resolution opposing the ban has also been tabled in the provincial assembly.
