Five police personnel were martyred when an improvised explosive device(IED)exploded near an armoured vehicle of the Police near Gomal Bazar police station in Tank.
According to the police, the vehicle was destroyed in the explosion when it was passing through the area for routine patrolling. The security situation in Tank has once again become serious, where 5 policemen were martyred in a powerful remote-controlled bomb explosion near an armoured police vehicle of Gomal Bazar police station. The explosion was so intense that the armoured vehicle was destroyed, and there was severe panic in the area.
According to police sources, the incident took place on Gomal Bazar Road when the armoured vehicle was heading towards Tank from Gomal police station. As a result of the explosion, all the personnel in the vehicle were seriously injured and were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital, but they succumbed to their injuries.
The martyrs include Additional SHO of Gomal Police Station Ishaq Khan, whose martyrdom is being described as a great loss to the police department. After the incident, police and security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation, while the bomb disposal squad collected evidence from the scene.
According to initial investigations, the explosion was carried out using a remote-controlled bomb, which was previously planted on the roadside. Police say that the attack aimed to target security forces and spread unrest in the area.
After the incident, security has been put on high alert across the province, while senior police officials have expressed their condolences to the families of the martyrs and assured a complete and transparent investigation into the incident. While paying tribute to the sacrifices of the martyrs, it has been said that elements hostile to peace will not be forgiven under any circumstances.
