Five police personnel were martyred when armed persons ambushed a Police mobile Gurgori area of Karak on Tuesday.
According to police, the mobile caught fire after the firing, which made the situation even more alarming. Immediately after the incident, a heavy contingent of police surrounded the area and a search operation was launched to find the attackers. The martyred personnel include Shahid Iqbal, Safdar, Arif, and Muhammad Abrar. DPO Karak Saud said that an investigation into the incident has been started by collecting evidence and investigations are underway from all angles.
Police officials said that all possible sources are being used to identify the nature of the attack and those responsible, and the possibility of involvement of terrorist elements or an illegal group is being examined. The incident has highlighted the need for strict security measures in the area, and citizens have been urged to cooperate with police and security forces so that the attackers can be arrested quickly.
