BANNU: Five police personnel were injured when Fitna-ul-Khawarij terrorists launched a cowardly attack on the Sheikh Landak border post of Hoveed police station on Friday.
The police personnel displayed great courage, bravery, and timely response and foiled the attack. As a result of the effective police retaliatory fire, the terrorists suffered heavy casualties and several terrorists were killed and injured.
Five brave police personnel sustained minor injuries during the retaliatory action and were immediately shifted to the hospital for treatment.
On the special instructions of DIG Bannu Sajjad Khan, DPO Bannu Yasir Afridi himself immediately reached the spot along with additional personnel and cordoned off the area and launched a search operation.
DIG Bannu and DPO Bannu praised the bravery of the police personnel for repelling the attack in strong words, congratulated them, and said that Bannu Police is ready at all times to protect the dear homeland and will not rest until the scourge of terrorism is eradicated.
DPO Bannu Yasir Afridi reached the hospital to visit the injured soldiers in the overnight encounter, visited the injured soldiers, boosted their morale, and reviewed the medical facilities provided to them. On this occasion, DPO Bannu said that Bannu Police has once again proved that it stands as a strong wall in front of the enemies of peace. The war against terrorism will continue until the last terrorist is eliminated.
