PESHAWAR: The first nationwide polio eradication campaign of 2026 will take place from February 2 to 8 across the country. The National Emergency Operation Center (EOC) reports that over 45 million children will be vaccinated against polio during this campaign.

The national polio campaign will occur simultaneously in Pakistan and Afghanistan, with more than 400,000 male and female polio workers participating.

Parents are encouraged to fully cooperate with polio workers to help protect their children from lifelong disabilities.

In addition to the polio vaccine, it is important for children to complete their immunization schedules on time.

On the final day of Pakistan’s last National Polio Campaign of 2025, the National Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) reported that over 44.3 million children under five have been vaccinated across the country during the six-day drive.

According to the national emergency operation centre, vaccination for the year 2025 was conducted nationwide where in Punjab approximately 22.9 million children under five have been vaccinated, while in Sindh 10.4 million children, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa around 7.1 million children were vaccinated in the national drive.

According to EOC nearly 2.55 million children from Balochistan, 450,000 million children from Islamabad, in Gilgit Baltistan over 274,000 and 714,000 children from Azad Jammu and Kashmir children vaccinated during the drive.

The polio campaign is being conducted simultaneously in Pakistan and Afghanistan, aiming to ensure no child under five is left unvaccinated.
