Private person found running PESCO grid station in Shangla

A Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) grid station in Besham city was found to be operating under the control of a private individual during a surprise inspection conducted by the Assistant Commissioner following a public complaint here on Wednesday.
According to the statement issued by the AC office, the visit of AC Noor Muhammad has revealed that no government official posted at the grid station was present on duty. Instead, the sensitive operations of the facility had been handed over to an untrained and unrelated private person, a development described by officials as highly alarming.

It was further disclosed that the designated person in charge of the grid station had not reported for duty despite having formally taken charge. Taking serious notice of the situation, the Assistant Commissioner ordered immediate departmental action against those responsible for the irregularities and lapses.

The AC on the occasion warned the Pesco local team to avoid risking the sensitive place from where the entire tehsil electricity is being supplied.
