Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman hold important meeting in the Saudi capital Riyadh, in which the Pak-Saudi defense agreement and the latest situation in the region were discussed in detail.
According to the Saudi Defense Minister’s statement, the meeting discussed Iranian attacks on Saudi Arabia, the Pak-Saudi defense agreement, and measures to prevent attacks under the strategic cooperation. The two leaders agreed that Iranian attacks have harmed regional peace and stability, and Pakistan and Saudi Arabia hope that Iran will respect the sovereignty of neighboring countries and try to avoid misunderstandings.
Chief of General Staff Fayyaz Al-Ruwaili and Advisor to the Defence Minister on Intelligence Hisham Bin Saif also participated in the meeting, while the Pakistani delegation included Brigadier Muhammad Javed Tariq.
It should be noted that according to the existing Joint Strategic Defense Agreement between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, if there is an external armed attack on Saudi Arabia or Pakistan, it will be considered an attack on both countries. The agreement is described as a historic defense cooperation between the two countries, the aim of which is to strengthen joint defense capabilities and ensure security and stability in the region.
