PESHAWAR: The federal investigation agency (FIA) Peshawar zone successfully launched a crackdown against Afghan refugees in Dabagri area of Peshawar on Sunday.
The federal investigation agency (FIA) in Peshawar carried out a Crackdown on Afghan Nationals involved in the Illegal acquisition of national identity cards (ID) and passports.
FIA Peshawar zone, after a successful crackdown, arrested five Afghan nationals residing illegally in Pakistan from a private hotel in the Dabagri area of Peshawar.
The arrested Afghan individuals have been identified as Ali Khan, Ajmal, Qasim, Ahmad, and Hamza, all originally from Afghanistan and were residing in Peshawar illegally.
During the operation, authorities recovered Afghan documents and Pakistani identity cards, and passports from their possession.
Initial investigations reveal that the suspects had entered Pakistan through illegal channels and were attempting to obtain Pakistani identity cards and passports through forgery. The arrested individuals reportedly intended to use these documents to acquire a Saudi Arabian work visa.
A case has been registered against the suspects, and interrogation has begun. FIA officials have stated that further arrests may follow based on the suspects’ disclosures. The operation was conducted by the FIA Anti-Human Smuggling Circle, Peshawar.
Authorities emphasized that the crackdown is part of ongoing efforts to combat illegal immigration and document forgery in the region.
