ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) of Pakistan has established facilitation desks to assist international travelers with immigration procedures, as announced by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Sunday.
This initiative comes in response to criticism over the government’s decision to offload passengers at various airports.
The FIA reported that most passengers were offloaded after being questioned about the authenticity of their travel documents, which primarily included work, tourist, and Umrah visas. The government claims this action is part of its efforts to combat illegal international migration.
Naqvi stated on the social media platform X, “I am pleased to share that the Federal Investigation Agency has launched Pre-Departure Facilitation Desks across all zonal offices, effective immediately.”
He emphasized that the desks aim to make the travel process smoother, more organized, and less of a hassle for passengers. FIA staff will be readily available to address any complaints or inquiries from travelers.
Additionally, the Interior Minister mentioned that helplines and email support have been set up for passengers’ convenience, providing them with immediate guidance on any issues before or during departure.
He noted that all details related to the Departure Facilitation Desk will be available at airports, border points, and on the official FIA website, ensuring passengers can easily access the information they need.
