PESHAWAR: Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Information and Public Relations, Shafi Jan, on Wednesday strongly reacted to the recent press conference of Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar and Talal Chaudhry, stating that both federal ministers should first review their own political standing before lecturing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf on people-centric politics.
In a statement issued here, Shafi Jan said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is currently the only political party in the country that truly represents public service and mass-based politics, whereas the present federal rulers have come into power through what he termed “fake Form-47.”
He added that the narrative propagated by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s close aides has completely collapsed and that the nation is fully aware of their false and ineffective claims.
He stated that press conferences held by federal ministers and their speeches in the National Assembly regarding the Tirah Valley are on record and sufficiently expose their contradictions and misleading positions.
Shafi Jan said that the real face of the so-called federal government has been laid bare before the nation, and that repeated press conferences are nothing more than failed attempts to conceal facts.
Shafi Jan further stated that the federal government indulged in disgraceful politics over the issue of depopulation from Tirah, a conduct he said the public would never forget. He noted that federal ministers have already retracted their own statements regarding the operation, describing the episode not as a policy shift but as a well-orchestrated attempt to mislead the public.
He stated that Attaullah Tarar has been deliberately positioned to spread disinformation. Attaullah Tarar and Talal Chaudhry launched an organized propaganda campaign against Chief Minister Sohail Afridi; however, the politically conscious public has outrightly rejected the propaganda against the provincial government and the Chief Minister.
He further added that federal ministers who make decisions behind closed doors are reluctant to face the public, while the people have grown weary of the negative political figures imposed upon them at the federal level.
The Special Assistant said that the rejected political group has resorted to undignified tactics in a bid to revive its fading politics. He asserted that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf remains determined to dismantle the politics of those pursuing anti-public agendas.
Meanwhile, expressing concern over the recent registration of a case and the issuance of non-bailable arrest warrants against Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, Shafi Jan said the federal government is panicked and rattled by the announcement of the February 8 protest. He said that conspiracies are already underway to obstruct the protest but affirmed that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, along with the public and its workers, will ensure the protest’s success at all costs.
