Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi criticises the federal government for not launching a single mega project in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the last two years and said that common people should not suffer in clashes between PTI and the federal government.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi held an important press conference in Peshawar in which he spoke openly about the provincial and federal governments, the politics of the PTI, and the security situation.

He complained that no major project has been given to the province by the federation in the last two years. He stressed that just as major projects are being started in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa should also get its legitimate rights. He said that just because there is a PTI government here, the people of the province should not suffer the consequences.

The governor severely criticized the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, saying that despite being in power for 13 years, the PTI could not make the health and education sectors in the province competitive with other provinces. He specifically mentioned sports facilities, saying that the provincial government had failed to build a single international-standard stadium. He demanded that the government, instead of playing “both sides of the wicket”, come forward and take serious steps to eradicate corruption.

Faisal Kundi advised the PTI to divide itself into two parts: a political party and the other an “anarchist” party. He quipped that the PTI was not finding a suitable candidate even for the opposition leader in the National Assembly. Speaking about Mahmood Khan Achakzai, he raised the question of how long his “expiration date” is and when the PTI will realize that the decision to support him was not right.

Regarding security, the Governor said that stopping the infiltration through the Afghan border is a big challenge. He termed May 9th as the darkest day in Pakistan’s history and said that if PTI is not involved in these incidents, then am I (Faisal Karim Kundi) involved? He raised the question of whether Radio Pakistan and the toll plaza were set on fire by the employees there? His position was that the relevant institutions did not teach the mischievous elements a lesson, due to which they are now threatening incidents like May 9th again.

He gave the example that the Sindh government is vigorously fighting the battle for its rights with the federation. He challenged the provincial leadership that if the current “lawyers” (rulers) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are proving to be ineffective, then they are ready to come forward and fight the province’s case themselves.
