The Frontier Corps (FC) North successfully thwarted an attempted fence-cutting operation by the Tehrik-i-Taliban Afghanistan (TTA) in the Khara Sector. In response to increasing infiltrations and attempts to breach the security barrier, FC North set up an ambush to deter future attacks.

The operation was led by WC 144 Wing and was executed after intelligence reports indicated that TTA insurgents were planning to cut through the fence at Mukha Post. At approximately 16:30 on March 7, 3 to 4 TTA militants approached the fence and attempted to breach it.

The ambush team engaged the terrorists with small arms fire, resulting in the death of one insurgent and injuries to the others. However, the remaining militants managed to escape into the nearby terrain.

The body of the deceased terrorist, identified as a hardcore TTP operative, was recovered from the scene, along with several key items, including 4 to 5 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) contained in 1.5-liter bottles and a ladder used for scaling the fence. Photographs of the seized items have been included.

This successful engagement underscores the ongoing efforts of FC North to safeguard Pakistan’s border and prevent terrorist infiltration through strategic ambush operations.
