ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced a new 15-day deadline for filing income tax returns. This decision follows requests from business groups, tax associations, and the public.

The extension is provided under Section A 214 of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001. Earlier, the FBR said the deadline would end at midnight today, with no additional extensions.

The FBR reminded taxpayers that those who do not file their returns by the new deadline will be considered late filers and may face penalties according to the law.
