PESHAWAR: Fast bowler Naseem Shah has issued a clarification following a substantial fine of Rs 20 million imposed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
He explained that a recent controversial post on his social media account was made by his management team and does not represent his personal views.
Taking full responsibility for his social media presence as a player, Naseem stated, “I have implemented the necessary changes to ensure this does not happen again, and I apologize to those affected by this misuse.”
It should be noted that the PCB fined Naseem Shah Rs 20 million for breaching the social media policy outlined in his central contract. This severe decision was made by a three-member disciplinary committee after considering the show-cause notice issued on March 27.
In addition to the fine, the PCB has also blacklisted Naseem’s social media advisor, preventing them from working with any contracted player in the future.
