MARDAN: The accused involved in the kidnapping of renowned poultry trader Abdul Hakim for a ransom of Rs 150 million by posing as intelligence officials have been arrested.

Police also recovered the stolen vehicle along with the motor car used in the incident. SP Investigation Nisar Ahmed Khan’s press conference said that police have arrested a group that kidnapped renowned poultry trader Abdul Hakim on the pretext of an investigation by posing as intelligence officials in Mardan and demanding a ransom of Rs 150 million.

According to the details, the accused took the trader Abdul Hakim with them from his office, located in Khawaja Town Mecca Plaza, and later demanded a huge amount of money as ransom from his brother. As soon as the incident was reported, DPO Masood Ahmed took immediate notice and issued strict instructions for the recovery of the kidnapper and the arrest of the accused.

On the instructions of the DPO, a special investigation team was formed under the leadership of SP Investigation Nisar Ahmed Khan. The team, led by SHO City Khaista Khan and In-charge Investigation Shaukat Hayat, reached the accused Muhammad Naeem, Nasir Khan, Izzat Khan, and Islamuddin on modern technology and scientific grounds and safely recovered the kidnapped businessman Abdul Hakim.

This is not the first incident of posing himself as an intelligence officer, as several times such persons were arrested in Peshawar declaring themselves as officer of intelligence agencies while involved in serious crimes.
