ISLAMABAD: The social media account “Bahut Baloch,” which presented itself as an activist platform, has now been exposed for spreading propaganda and has been permanently blocked on X (formerly Twitter) due to serious concerns over its content and activities.
The social media platform X has taken enforcement action by suspending the account, citing worries about the misuse of online platforms for coordinated misinformation and harmful narratives. This move is part of broader efforts to limit the spread of content that violates platform policies related to disinformation and security risks.
This account was involved in spreading false propaganda and amplifying narratives linked to militant organizations, including the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), which is designated as a terrorist group by the government of Pakistan. Officials claim the account contributed to the circulation of extremist messaging and misleading information.
This development highlights the increasing pressure on global technology firms to strengthen monitoring mechanisms and prevent digital platforms from being exploited for extremist or violent purposes.
