ISLAMABAD: Senator Faisal Vawda stated that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) betrayed its founder, Imran Khan, and yet has the audacity to unveil itself to the people as a double agent.

Speaking to private news channel Hum News, Faisal Vawda criticized the PTI leadership severely and termed them “the gang that killed Imran ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌Khan.” They should have waited in the assembly for the voting on constitutional changes and shown their votes properly, he said.

“Not a single speech was made by PTI on Article 243 neither for nor against even after the Senate chairman made 59 announcements,” Vawda stated. “They have made themselves the biggest hypocrites in history. The party should let the people know that it agrees with them in some points and in others it differs.”

He cautioned that if PTI went on with “Mola Jatt-style politics,” the results could be very unfortunate, such as the party being dissolved or the Governor’s Rule being imposed. He appealed to the party to talk with each other, support their leader, and keep away from the coming troubles of politics.

Vawda also commended Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for not taking the offer of special immunity and said Pakistan cannot look into the future by staring at the past. He also warned PTI’s leadership against leading the youth astray and said that the current leadership is making it more difficult for the party’s founder.

He spoke about the recent constitutional amendment process and said that the PTI was acting “drama” in the assembly while the resignation of Saifullah Abro was a good move. Real change is not just a slogan, he said.

“Both the Prime Minister and the Army Chief think alike,” Vawda commented. “Hybrid democracy can be the means to take the country forward. The things that were in the draft have been passed. The rest can be dealt with through the 28th Amendment if there are ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌any.”
