Traffic on the damaged Garam Chashma Chitral road has not been restored yet

Due to the heavy rains that occurred last night, various places on the Garm Chashma to Chitral road, especially from Bhalpok to Shali, have been closed for all types of traffic due to floodwaters.

Rescue 1122 and related agencies are closely monitoring the situation, and steps are being taken to restore the affected routes. Rescue 1122 teams are fully alert and ready to deal with any emergency. The public is requested to avoid unnecessary travel and take alternative routes. In case of any emergency, immediately contact the Rescue 1122 helpline 1122. Authorities have so far not taken any action to restore the traffic on this road, and most of the people are crossing the damaged portion on foot to exchange passenger vehicles at the damaged site. A large number of people are travelling on this road as some residential developments are being built due to frequent visits of tourists to the area. The road portion was damaged due to heavy rain on September 18, disconnecting Garam Chashma from the rest of the districts. The residents demanded that the government take urgent steps to restore traffic on this road.
