ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has termed the response of the Pakistani armed forces in response to the unprovoked aggression of the Afghan Taliban as comprehensive and decisive saying that the enemy must know that Pakistan reach is everywhere.

The President made it clear in unequivocal terms that Pakistan will not compromise on peace and territorial integrity and whoever tries to misunderstand peace as weakness must be prepared for a strong response. The President further said that enemy elements will not be beyond Pakistan’s reach and action will be taken against the planners and facilitators wherever they are.

He said that if the bloodshed continues, the responsible elements will not be safe and no concessions will be made on national security. Pakistan will not be intimidated by pressure or threats. President Zardari described the Pakistani nation and forces as a leaden wall for the defence of the homeland and said that the forces are ready at any moment to protect the country.

He expressed grave concern over the ongoing five-year-long terrorist attacks and said that despite diplomatic efforts, the armed forces were forced to take action due to the lack of positive progress. It should be noted that Pakistan launched Operation Ghazb-lil-Haq in response to the unprovoked action of the Afghan Taliban regime.

During this operation, the Air Force and ground forces carried out operations, in which 133 elements of the Afghan Taliban were killed and more than 200 were injured. According to security sources, several posts of the Afghan Taliban were destroyed during the operation and important military targets were targeted. The operation is ongoing and the Pakistan Army has made it clear that every aggression will be given a full and decisive response.

The President finally assured the nation that the armed forces and people of Pakistan are united and determined to protect the country, and no enemy can harm the integrity or peace of Pakistan.
