The election schedule for the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly polls has been finalised, with voting set to take place on June 7, 2026, according to an announcement by the Election Commission of Pakistan.

In a statement, Chief Election Commissioner Raja Shahbaz Khan confirmed the schedule and said the elections would be conducted under the provisions of the Elections Act 2017 and the Gilgit-Baltistan Order 2018.

He said all stages of the electoral process would be completed in accordance with the relevant legal requirements to ensure a transparent and orderly election.

The election commission has also sent the relevant notification to the Pakistan Gazette for publication. Following its formal publication in the gazette, election activities across the region are expected to officially commence.
