KARAK: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and the local police have killed eight terrorists in a joint operation conducted in the Karak district after a deadly attack that claimed five police officers on Tuesday morning.
According to a statement issued by the Karak police, in a joint operation conducted in the Daresh Khel area of Karak, police and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) killed eight armed terrorists from a banned group during an encounter.
According to DPO Karak Saud Khan, the terrorists had attacked police officers, prompting a comprehensive search operation in the area. During this operation, an exchange of fire occurred, resulting in the deaths of the eight terrorists.
DPO Saud Khan stated that the police are determined to avenge the blood of their martyred personnel and emphasised that the sacrifices of the martyrs will not be in vain. He made it clear that no effort would be spared in the pursuit of peace.
Furthermore, DPO Karak affirmed that the morale of the police will not be diminished by such cowardly acts, and operations against elements hostile to peace will continue without hesitation.
Security measures have been intensified in the area, and the search operation will proceed until its objectives are fully achieved.
