MURREE: In order to provide security to the tourists during their visit to Murree during the upcoming Eid holidays, special security arrangements have been made by the Murree police.

District Police Officer (DPO) Murree has advised the tourists to download the Safe Tourism Murree application before their visit. This will enable the tourists to have quick access to the police.

There is a possibility of rain and thunderstorms during the upcoming Eid holidays, said the DPO Murree. Therefore, the tourists have been advised to travel cautiously and check the weather conditions before leaving.

Further, the DPO Murree has emphasized that the tourists should avoid traveling during such weather conditions, especially.

It is worth mentioning here that the authorities have confirmed that the Safe Tourism Murree app is a valuable tool for tourists, enabling them to have access to information about hotels, tourist destinations, and safe zones, etc. Tourists can even have direct access to the police through this app, which would enable them to get quick response in critical situations.

With a large number of tourists expected to visit Murree for Eid, the DPO has appealed for cooperation from both residents and tourists to help maintain smooth traffic flow and ensure that everyone can enjoy their visit in a safe environment.

Fresh snowfall in Swat flocks local tourists to Malam Jabba

Earlier, a thick layer of snow has settled on the mountains and trees of Malam Jabba, adding to the beauty of the valley while dropping the mercury level and intensity of cold in March.

According to the latest reports from the beautiful Malam Jabba Valley of Swat, the recent snowfall during the holy month of Ramadan has engulfed the entire valley. On Monday, March 16, 2026, snowfall began in Malam Jabba as the temperature dropped, scattering white everywhere

According to local sources and meteorological data, there was a series of rain and snow during the day today.  The snowfall has increased the intensity of cold in the area. Today, the maximum temperature of Malam Jabba was recorded at 8°C while the minimum was 3°C. The humidity in the air was 72%, which further increased the feeling of cold.

Despite the month of Ramadan, a large number of tourists are heading to Malam Jabba to witness the snowfall. According to local hotel owners and traders, this unexpected snowfall has created hope for a business improvement however fasting people are also facing difficulties due to the severe cold.

Due to snowfall, the roads have become slippery, for which the administration has directed tourists to drive carefully and use anti-skid chains in their vehicles.

According to the Meteorological Department data, the weather in Malam Jabba will remain partly cloudy tonight and the chance of snowfall will reduce to 10%, however, the cold wave will persist.
