PESHAWAR: The Election Commission of Pakistan(ECP) has issued a schedule for the bye-election on the vacant seat of NA-01 Chitral on Thursday.
In this regard, the Election Commission has also issued a notification for the appointment of the District Returning Officer and the Returning Officer. According to this notification, Regional Election Commissioner Mr. Ijaz Ahmed has been appointed as the district Returning Officer and District Election Commissioner Chitral Lower, while Mr. Muhammad Iqbal has been appointed as Returning Officer.The public notice will be issued by the Returning Officer on October 13, 2025. The process of submitting nomination papers will continue from 15 to 17 October 2025. The list of candidates who have submitted nomination papers will be issued on 18 October 2025, while the scrutiny of nomination papers will be conducted till 22 October 2025.The last date for filing appeals against the decisions of the Returning Officer to accept or reject the nomination form has been fixed as 27 October 2025. The last date for deciding the appeals by the Appellate Tribunal has been fixed as 03 November 2025.
The date of publication of the revised list of candidates will be on November 04, 2025, while the last date for withdrawal of nomination papers of candidates and publication of the revised list has been fixed as November 05, 2025. The election symbols will be allotted to the candidates on November 06, 2025, while the polling will be held on 23 November 23, 2025. As per the code of conduct issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan, the promotions and transfers of government employees have been banned in these districts.
