‎The Election Commission of Pakistan(ECP) issued election symbols of the candidates for the by-election of the National Assembly constituency NA-18 in Haripur.

‎The Election Commission has allotted their election symbols to the candidates through Form 33. The election symbol of independent candidate Omar Ayub Khan’s wife Shehr Naz Ayub is a chain, the election symbol of PML-N’s Babar Nawaz is a lion, and the symbol of the PPP’s Irum Fatima has been given an arrow.

‎Among other candidates, Azad Rustam Khan has been given a butterfly, Abdul Shakoor has a rail engine, Muhammad Sarwar has a cricket stamp, Asad Usman has a tea pot, Khurshid Anwar has a table, Zawar Hussain has a queen, and other candidates have been allotted their symbols.

‎The office of the Provincial Election Commissioner of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had issued the official schedule for the NA-18 Haripur by-election on November 4 and the last date for withdrawal of nomination papers was set as November 5.

‎According to the Election Commission spokesperson, the polling will be held on November 23, the Provincial Election Commissioner’s office has assured that the elections will be held in a free, fair and transparent manner.

‎Four candidates have withdrawn their nomination papers in the NA-18 Haripur by-election, including Sardar Muhammad Mushtaq Khan, Sardar Abdul Rauf Khan, Syed Muhammad Sabir Shah and Muhammad Khamid Shah.

‎After this, the contest will be between nine candidates, including Irum Fatima, Asad Usman, Babar Nawaz Khan, Khurshid Anwar Khan, Rustam Khan, Syed Ali Zawar Hussain, Shahrbaz Omar Ayub, Abdul Shakoor and Muhammad Anwar.

‎The District Election Commissioner, District Haripur, has been appointed as the Returning Officer and the District Election Commissioner, Abbottabad, has been appointed as the Returning Officer.

‎It is to be noted that the Election Commission has announced a by-election for the vacant seat of NA-18 Haripur. The seat fell vacant due to disqualification of Omar Ayub due to his conviction in cases on May 9.
