PESHAWAR: Earthquake tremors were felt in several parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Chitral, Peshawar and Swat, causing panic among residents.
Following the tremors, many people rushed out of their homes while reciting prayers, as fear spread in different areas.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the earthquake measured 5.3 on the Richter scale. The epicenter was located in the Hindu Kush mountain range at a depth of 216 kilometers.
No casualties or property damage have been reported so far, officials said, adding that the administration is monitoring the situation.
