ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad administration has announced that E Tags will be mandatory for all vehicles entering the federal capital from 18 November.

The new system will officially begin from 18 November to improve road security, traffic monitoring and city management. This initiative will not only cover Islamabad-registered vehicles, but will also extend to vehicles from other provinces.

The district administration has set up multiple designated points across Islamabad where citizens can obtain mandatory e-tag stickers for their vehicles.

Under the new policy every vehicle that uses the roads of Islamabad must have an E Tag sticker. This includes cars registered in Punjab Sindh Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Balochistan and Gilgit Baltistan.

Vehicles without an E Tag will not be allowed to enter Islamabad after the implementation date. The system will also help security teams monitor traffic flow more efficiently and respond faster in emergency situations.
